OUR COMMITMENT WITH SUSTAINABILITY
KYKLIKÓS was born from our own desire to buy sustainable fashion, and our frustration for not finding accessible and easy options around us that fitted our fashion style. It seemed to us that to dress ethically you had to give up your style, or spend a lot of time looking for small brands that create beautiful clothes.
That's when we realized that we were not alone in this search and that there were many people who, like us, wanted to be kinder to the planet when it came to dressing up, but they could not find an easy way to do this. The problem was not the lack of desire, but the lack of possibilities.
At that time we understood that the path to sustainability does not only lie in the hands of consumers or governments but that companies also have a great responsibility to offer alternatives that meet those demands. We discovered a wide variety of wonderful Spanish brands already committed to beautiful and sustainable products. To bring those brands closer to the general public, and under the motto of unity is strength, we created KYKLIKOS.com. By bringing all these brands together, we seek to make sustainable fashion accessible, without the need to do a lot of research, buy on various websites or give up your style.
The path to a more ethical lifestyle is not easy and unfortunately it depends on many factors that we cannot control. The good thing is that it is up to us to learn how to make more conscious decisions and be kinder to the planet and people. We want to be part of your journey towards sustainability, and that you learn from us just as we will from you. Because the important thing is not that you get a 10/10 in sustainability (neither we nor our products have it!), But that you gradually incorporate a more sustainable way of thinking and acting into your day-to-day life.
OUR SUSTAINABILITY CRITERIA
We have carefully chosen the brands with which we have launched this project, based on 7 criteria: vegan materials, local manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, organic material, sustainable material, recycled material and recyclable material. This is so that you keep in mind at all times the characteristics of each item that you see on our website, and the reasons why we have chosen it. Below we explain a little more about each of these criteria:
These garments are manufactured locally in Spain and Portugal, significantly reducing transport emissions from both the materials and the finished product. Local manufacturing also assures us that working conditions are met in accordance with European Union legislation.
These garments are completely vegan, thus ensuring that no product of animal origin has been used in the raw material, not even recycled.
The garments that have this logo are made from materials that have a high percentage of fibers or recycled fabrics. These garments help us reduce the amount of textile and non-textile waste that is generated every day.
They are the garments that are made from organic and natural materials and fabrics that have been produced in the least harmful way possible for the planet. They minimize the impact on production and renounce the use of pesticides, opting for water-based inks.
These garments are manufactured following practices and processes that seek to be more respectful with the environment. An example of this type of manufacturing would be the reduced use of water in denim fabrics.
This symbol appears on garments that, thanks to the composition of the materials and the manufacturing processes of the relevant brands, are mostly recyclable. This means that, the day this garment cannot be used any longer , its materials can be reused to have a second life.
These garments are made of materials that do not compromise the resources of future generations and have as a fundamental principle the respect for the environment, as well as the work of all people involved in the process. All the garments that you will find on our website will have this symbol.
